Despite the difficulties that technological-commercial exchange represents today worldwide, the MYEEL team continues to work with dedication and effort to ensure that the Argentine Cooperatives continue to incorporate new equipment and technology that allows them to modernize their electrical service infrastructure.

On this occasion we want to highlight a new line of products that we have incorporated into our portfolio and that we have been developing. We are talking about Fault Detectors for Medium Voltage Overhead Lines (5 – 38kV) model JYZ-FF – C brand Four-Faith.

This equipment is designed to indicate the passage of a short-circuit current in the conductors of Medium Voltage overhead lines, allowing the technical staff to quickly identify the path of the short-circuit current to the point of failure of the network. This quick location greatly improves response times and quick restoration of electrical service to customers. As a result of the implementation of this technology, the Cooperatives will achieve a considerable improvement in their Quality of Service.

How do JYZ-FF-C Detectors work?

Mounted on line conductors, they monitor the flow of current. When detecting that the current level exceeds a threshold previously selectable by the user as a result of a fault current, they show by means of a mechanical and luminous indicator (high power LED) that an overcurrent event has occurred at that point. At the same time, the JYZ-FF-C detector sends a failure message to the JYZ-FF-RTU concentrator, which will transmit the data to the central supervision office through the cellular type communication link that the equipment has built-in. standard (4G LTE/3G/GPRS) or the one available to the client using the RS232 port.

If the line has a certain number of detectors located in strategic places on the line, through the SCADA system the technical personnel can accurately locate the area where the failure occurred so that maintenance personnel can quickly solve the problem. . This information can also be combined with the GIS, to determine, for example, the number of users affected by the failure event.

The JYF-FF-C detectors can be installed on energized lines, by using a pole and a mounting adapter and its design allows a 360º view.
