The ABB WiAutoLink electronic disconnector is designed to be installed on overhead distribution lines to improve reliability and continuity of service: it is a medium voltage electrical device that automatically isolates the faulted section of the network when a permanent fault occurs. When networked with an upstream recloser (or recloser switch), the AutoLink counts fault events and, once the preset count is reached (1 to 4 recloser open operations), opens the circuit while it is already open by the recloser.
