With a view to complying with the new RTM for meters, in 2018, MYEEL decided to purchase and install a metrological verification laboratory for water meters.
The equipment was received at the beginning of 2019. Executed entirely in stainless steel, it was in operation a few months later. It has a closed water circuit, which allows the test fluid to be recirculated. Its closed reservoir, of more than 500 liters, allows the system to be pressurized between 1 bar and 9 bar. One of the advantages of this system is allowing tests to be carried out under conditions similar to those of distribution networks, avoiding the effect of vibrations produced by pumping systems.
It allows working in regimes between 0,004 m3/h and 8,000 m3/h, in instruments between DN15 and DN25 mm. It operates with automatic cutting, and offers an appreciation of 0,02 dm3 with containers approved by the Secretary of Commerce and the INTI. It also has the device suitable for measuring the differential pressure of the meter under test at different flow rates.
An application specially developed in Android, allows to collect the readings, and export the results (including the uncertainty calculations and test parameters), associated to the work order, client and meter.
It can be configured to work in up to 6 (six) flows, with a minimum of three, predefined, Q3, Q2 and Q1 according to the Meter Range, with the rest of the flows being configurable. It is also prepared to define the number of desired repetitions.
Another of the possible operations is the hermeticity test, in up to double the value of the maximum declared pressure of the meter.
